Have you ever questioning the meaning behind Sony Ericsson mobile phone's name? what's with the 'k' in k750 or maybe with the 'w'. Well it seem like Sony Ericsson will have a new naming scheme for future handsets.  It will have a new G-series (which mean Generation Web), the new G-series are G700 and G900, also will have R-series which is Radio series, the new R-series are R300 and R306.

Talking about new naming scheme, it won't change the 'letter and 3 number' format, here some of the meaning of the letter

• C == Cybershot phone
• R == Radio Phone
• W ==Walkman Series

while the first number is  the range of the handset, 9 for high end and 1 for the low end. The second number will be phone version, while the third number will stand for handset's form factor

• 0-2 --> candybar
• 3-5 -->slider
• 6-8 -->clamshell
• 9 for other.
